Ah, the ol' hot dog eating sport.

I like the poker tournaments. Only sport I really watch is boxing late at night. Or the UFC. Those are fun.

Hot dog eating is a sport - more of a sport than 'cup stacking' IMO.

The Deuce hasn't been the same since Kiana's Flex Appeal went off the air.

However, World's Strongest Man competition is teh win.

This happens to all networks when they try to broaden their appeal and increase viewership. What they really do is alienate the viewers who gave the network a reason for existence. Sometimes I wonder if ESPN even knows it's a sports network (National Spelling Bee championships anyone? I rest my case.)

Oh well, I'll still watch the ice hockey games, but I'll be watching 30 minutes less each day as they axed NHL2NIGHT.

kobyashi is a ****ing machine. 53 goddamned hotdogs? thats ****ing insane.

i remember watching his first appearance at that hotdog eating competition. they only had signs made up to like 25 (for keeping track of who had eaten how many dogs). he blew past that in a few minutes so they started making handmade numbers on paper. its just insane. the other competitors pretty much stopped and just stared at him as he plowed through hotdogs.

sidenote: ESPN 8 "the ocho" almost made me shoot sour patch kids out my nose when i was watching dodgeball.

I guess you don't remember the early days of ESPN and the crap that used to air on it.

Even the crap back then wasn't as bad as "Cold Pizza" on the Deuce nowadays...

I was surprised there was no Euro 2004 games on ESPN2. Damn I wish Houston had a soccer team.
