when the apple phone tech asked to estimate how many stuck pixels there were, I told him 1440.
C2D 2.16 15" bought in december, the stuck pixels just showed up today.
Off to the authorized service place on monday.

I'm cunfuzzled. Why did you say 1440? Your entire screen is stuck?

not the whole screen, just an entire horizontal row of pixels near the top of the screen.(check the image at full res if you didn't)
I've already got a case# from the apple tech I talked to, I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes tops, I just have to go to a local mac reseller(no apple stores where I live), they are an apple authorized repair location. Supposedly they'll just fix it there, I hope I won't be waiting to long.

I had the same problem. Took it to apple store and they replaced the screen the same day. (but as it turned out they damaged the logic board during the repair and in the end gave me a new mbp. I had 2.0Ghz CD and they gave me a 2.33Ghz C2D )

Reminds me of the old Sony Trinitron tubes where you could sometimes see the wires holding up the Aperture Grill. Nice!

The damper wire was there by design and was only barely visible. Definitely not alike.

Well I got it back today, it was available thursday but I had to work.
Not much to report other than it's fixed with no issues, the new lcd screen seems a bit less grainy then my last one, which wasn't too bad.
