hi. im looking for someone to write a script or an app to change the interface # in the any_mod_file.toc. its very helpful so u dont have to wait til the patched version to get ur mods to work when Blizz does any update.

example:

## Interface: 4211
## Title: PVP Cooldown
## Notes: PVP Cooldown v1.0 -- Adds a PVP cooldown timer that shows you how long till you loose your PVP Flag.
## OptionalDeps:
## Dependencies:
PVPCooldown.xml

see the ##interface: 4211. I would like a script or app that will allows me to change that to any # i specify. im doing this is due to when Blizzard does a patch & all the UI mods # are out of date.

i did change all my UI mods to the latest version (4211), but since i have a lot & its time consuming doing each individual file. i was wondering if WoW player can write one so us Mac users have something to use.

thanks,

You could always do what I did. I used BBEdit Lite. Did a mass search through the text files in the folder. Told it to replace 4150 with 4211. Took all of 10 seconds

That sounds like something that could easily be done with AppleScript.

...this is definitely a job for Macologist... I'll see what we can come up with.

Alternatively from a terminal prompt:

Code:
find '/Applications/World of Warcraft/Interface' -name '*.toc' | xargs perl -i -pe 's{\Q: 4211\E}{: 4216}'
Plenty of ways to skin a dead cat in Unix

He was spamming about a gold-selling "service" I believe. Damn farmers*.

(*note -- the above does not refer to the hard-working folks tilling soil and raising crops to feed us all, but then again, most of us know EXACTLY to what this refers, so this overly long and wordy footnote --have you ever seen a footnote longer than the actual post to which it refers?-- is aimed at that ONE person who is bound to misinterpret my comment and try to flame me, not that this note will help as that sort tends to flame first and comprehend later, so this is not only an absurdly long foodnote but a pointless one, as well)

What's wrong with "load out of date"? Why bother changing all the toc files, when it might not work anyway?

That option was not available at the time of this thread. It was added in a later patch.
