I see a lot of 'shared' macs & pcs in my Finder's left-sidebar which shows all of the computers on the local network in the office. Is there any way I can get more info about these machines ? I'm mainly looking for IP addresses or more relevant info. Unfortunately when i right-click and choose 'get info' , there really isn't all that much useful info besides the computer's name.

If this is not possible in the Finder, is there a way I can do this with the command line ? To scan local computers on the network and obtain relevant info, mainly IP addresses. thank you!

IP addresses would be brilliant but the only way I ever found was a great little app called Bonjour Browser.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

I'm guessing you mean "Bonjour Browser." I don't want to know what Bonour Browser is for.
