Hey all, I've been having a problem with Safari under 10.4.1. Whenever I open the app, it crashes and I get the following report:

Command: Safari
Path: /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
Parent: WindowServer [61]

Version: 2.0 (412)
Build Version: 1
Project Name: WebBrowser
Source Version: 4120000

PID: 362
Thread: 0

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0xbf7fffa0

Thread 0 Crashed:
0 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x90734420 CFStringCreateWithBytes + 16
1 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x9075429c __CFBinaryPlistCreateObject + 808
2 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x90754768 __CFBinaryPlistCreateObject + 2036
3 com.apple.CoreFoundation 0x90754524 __CFBinaryPlistCreateObject + 1456
...

How can I fix this? I'm unfortunately nowhere near my install CD so I don't have access to it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

It could be that the preferences or history file is corrupted, but you snipped most of the crash report, so it's not too useful anymore.

Move your Safari folder ( ~/Library/Safari ) to the desktop, as well as the plist ( ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.safari.plist ). ( ~ is referred to as the home directory). See if that works for you.
