Just saw it on the Apple store... now available in 4 and 8GB models.
Seems like the whole (PRODUCT) Red thing must be going well for them to intro a new model. I wonder if we will see any more Red Apple products. I think perhaps we might get a Red full sized iPod one day, and less likely, a MacBook.
Kudos to Apple for continuing to expand (PRODUCT) Red products.
The only thing stopping me from getting one of the 8GB versions is that its only 20 less than a full sized iPod which holds a LOT more and has more features. I think the 8 GB Nano is just a bit too expensive when compared to the 30 Gig 5.5 gen.

The (PRODUCT) branding is meant to be displayed as such.

still don't know why people just don't donnate the cash dirrectly to the cause?
Is it people are so shallow they have to have flashy a item that stands out screaming, "LOOK AT ME I DID GOOD, I CARE"
I just don't know why people need to show off why they care so much

well if you're getting an ipod anyway, why not get the red one that helps a good cause as well.
getting the white one may just be saying "LOOK AT ME I COULD GIVE A **** ABOUT A GOOD CAUSE"

I look at it as a desirable color being attached to charity contribution.
I mean, what if they took the black Macbook and donated the extra 150 to charity? Most people would buy it becase of the look, not the charity contribution

As a proud owner of the 4GB Red iPod nano, I see the red iPod nano is a huge success. No wonder Apple released an 8GB model.

I completely agree, the answer to you question is Bono is behind it, it is more about publicity and less about charity, just like madonna and the kid she is adopting.

Take it back then - there's a 14-day return policy.

Charity appeals to people's vanity, they like to show off that they have done "a good thing". It makes them feel good about themselves, and getting something for it to show off makes them feel even better.
But the ethical question is this: If the end is justified by the means, does it really matter?
