I have quicktime pro OSX and can't figure out how to add a subtitle like the one on this video - where the subtitle lays over the video on the bottom of you screen. Can someplease PLEASE help?

Note: I figured how to add a title underneath it - but not over it.

It's a project hosted by 3ivx. Check out their forums for more info.

a) make subtitles as b/w pic with res of your movie size.... open bth in QTpro; select all, copy; switch to movie; add scaled; switch to movie properties; choose track 2; choose mask... now, your titles shoudl be superimpsoed....

BUT
b) open mov in iMovie... select titles.... iMovie is pre-installed on every Mac, why the hack using unconvenient QT?

If you leave your titles as a QT text track they will scale up better. QT does have performance problems overlaying text and video at playback time, but if your video dimensions are not too large that might not be a problem for you. If you can't deduce the right text attributes for overlaying over the video, TitleLab is your best bet. There's also a guide page about text tracks somewhere on the quicktime part of apple.com
