unpack the archive (even if you do not get noteable feedback), it takes some time (expands to 108 mb) , then restart. afterwards you should see the unpacked uno.dmg

I had so many complains about the compress option (7z), that I had to re-upload this in a more friendly format (bz2).
File is now UNO13.dmg.bz2 (15.6MB) kindly hosted by MacUpdate.

Thank you. And sorry for the 7z assle.

Great work. Uno Shaded is way too dark for me, but it's great to have a new Uno. The iSync animation gradient bug is still not solved, though.

[edit] Am I seeing things, or have my Apple and my Spotlight icons in the menubar become smaller after Uno 1.3? [/edit]

My Mac is a Pismo G4/550: 1GB RAM, 40GB 5.4k, Airport, DVD-R, and still black, silent and curvaceous!

Indeed. If it ain't broke why fix it? I suppose the height now matches the other items in the menu, but all the extra white space around them seems rather jarring. I kind of liked how they were larger the the rest of the menus and thus stood out more. It's not the end of the world and I suppose I could get used to it pretty quickly, but I would definitely prefer a version that has the original sizes.

Having said all that, I love how I can mix and match the styles now. Personally I leave all Aqua apps as such and make all metal apps Uno. I also keep all the iLife apps as they currently are with the darker unified look. That seems to provide a certain level of consistency and nice contrast. Many thanks to the developer!

This is a gorgeous theme. Please keep providing a separate installer. Some of us have stopped using haxies due to incompatibilities with other applications.

Thanks so much

gritz: please look at the pictures http://users.evtek.fi/~k0101446/NASA/ See the window resizer? Please, tell me how to get rid of it... it jumps on your eyes on firefox (and goes over RIP's button)

I have a request--would it be possible to put an option in the installer to not change any of the extras (menubar, pinstripe texture, etc), or give more control over appearance of those things as you do for Dashboard and iTunes?

Actually, it's mainly the pinstripe texture that I miss. I would like to be able to leave it in, because otherwise the GUI is a little too plain for my tastes. If you could allow for that, I would really appreciate it.

I also would like to see Max Rudberg's Aqua Extreme widgets (www.maxthemes.com) incorporated into Uno eventually; they're head and shoulders above Apple's Aqua ones. Hopefully he would give you permission.

Thanks for the great kit, BTW!

It's a great package, love the consistent look. I just wish there was an option to make square corners on the windows, I really miss those.

I hope UNO will be updated for coming releases as well as for Leopard (Which appears to have the fugly Aqua stripish theme of Tiger).

1.3.1 change log :
  • iTunes 7.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent UNO from applying to Firefox and Thunderbird on some system setups.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent UNO from install and uninstall on systems where Spotlight has been removed.
  • Spotlight and Apple menu items are now back to default size (due to massive request).
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent UNO installation if iTunes was in other location than the default Applications folder.
  • Fixed a very notorious UI glitch found on Microsoft Word, Printer Setup Utility and Extensis Suitcase (Open/Save Panels and Alerts' background was not themed).
  • Fixed a rendering glitch on Adobe applications like Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator (a tone mismatch visible with UNO shade on group boxes of Open/Save windows).
  • Added localization support for hardcoded strings.
  • Added French localization (thanks to Thomas Didrel - tototoolco.com).
  • Added Italian localization (thanks to Claudio - shieldnet.tk).
  • The Read Me file is now localized too (thanks to Jamie Curmi - curmi.com for Universal Document).
  • Refined minimum requirements Alert panels.
  • Other installer enhancements.

Thanks very much for the update!

My main theme is still v23evolution (which is based on UNO), but I install UNO as well as using ShapeShifter in order to theme 'unthemeable' elements (like the log out confirmation, certain installers, etc).

Version 1.3 of UNO by itself was downloaded more than 60.000 times. That's where my devotion comes from..

Anyone try UNO 1.3.1 and the recent OS update to 10.4.8? Is it working?

It works great, and is Very, Very atttractive. It is the sort of app that cleans up the morass of Window Styles. It makes me sleep better.

I wish it had the ability to make all the windows ACT the same, not just look the same.. For example, in Metal windows, you can drag from anywhere, where in Aqua windows, you can only drag from the titlebar.. Now that they look identical, you would expect them to ACT identically

I suppose it would be possible to auto-convert windows to metal-styling using some osrt of APE like code, but I think that's a little invasive... Here's hoping for 10.5

UNO 1.3.1 look great. There are some rough edges, though. The bottom corners of QuickTime Player aren't fully transparent. See?

It's a small thing. Otherwise, great work on this app and theme!

After unarchiving the .bz2 file, I'm left with a .dmg file which doesn't open (it says disk image unable to open). Is there another place I can download it or maybe in a different format? I LOVE the idea of this app, especially that its universal.

Also to incorporating Extreme Aqua by max

I've removed UNO and returned to the default appearance. UNO made Office, NeoOffice, Photoshop, and Pages look terrible.

Oh well. I'll wait for Leopard.
