Meanwhile, Drew Stanton was fired up about the Cardinals win over the Seahawks.

Saw that live and got a huge kick out of it.

Seahawks have now lost 5 games, all of which they held a lead in the 4th, so much for the Legion of Boom.

Of course 3-3 Against the Giants doesn't tell the whole story, two of those losses were SBs, but still.

Edit: http://deadspin.com/the-giants-just-...eal-1742767814

A little light reading for Starman as to actual reasons the Giants lost, instead of the cheating boogeyman.

I see we're done throwing our tantrum.

I get it, without horrible clock management and other bone-headed 4th quarter decisions the Giants would be 8-1 right now conservatively, but that wasn't an INT....throwing the ball and getting the clock stopped at 2:01 lost the Giants the game, not "cheating".

Anyways it's been 4 years, time for the Pats to get upset by the Giants in the SB again. I'm half-joking but if the Pats do make it to the SB against the Giants I'm going to have a heart attack. Tom Coughlin is the perfect anti-Belichick coach.

Wasn't a good game for Mizzou this weekend, playing TN. Maybe they should have gone to practice rather than protesting and making threats?

I know. LSU has lost 3 in a row and TN has won 4, what madness is this?! At this rate they'll have pretty much identical records at the end of the season.

Broncos beat the Pats? What?!? Not only that, but they beat them with a backup QB?? NE simply had no answer for Anderson, couldn't run at all, and didn't take care of the ball when it mattered most. Down they go.

Haha, hide your raging hater erections fellahs, the Pats just lost their first game through 12 weeks, they'll be just fine.

No #1 RB, No Edelman, No Amendola, both ILB out by the half and Gronk goes down in the 4th. Not to mention a heap of ticky-tack penalties thrown in for good measure.

Edit: Also, no way Manning should get the reigns back, Brock proved he can be the QB they need moving forward and Denver already has the defense (#1 and #2 Ds with Denver and the Pats) no way Manning is anywhere near 100% this season, it's sad, but it's time to move on.

There have been a lot of excuses by NE fans this morning. You think the Broncos haven't had injuries (5 of 11 starters on def)? And I guess it's always fashionable to blame the refs when your team unravels like a ball of twine in the 4th quarter.

The best part was Belichick's 10 second stare at the after-game press conference, though.

You're assuming I'm trying to say the Patriots were getting purposely screwed by the refs, when it's simply a continuation of the horrendous officiating this year so far across all the games. The Pats just happen to be on the receiving end this week. Former zebra Mike Carrey disagreed with a call on the field last night regarding a catch on the sideline, and both Simms and Nantz remarked how convoluted and subjective the catch rule has become. It's infuriating when a huge play is negated by something that didn't get called a play earlier and in last night's case a very light shoulderpad touch draws a DPI in the endzone but the very next play Chandler Jones (NFL sack leader) has a hand under his facemask as he is rushing Brock and.....nothing. Officiating has been getting more intrusive year-in and year-out in the NFL. The more they flag the more everyone looks for the shit they don't get, they sap the life out of good games and make mediocre matchups just dreadful to sit through.

The rules on catches need to be culled the hell back. Control of ball, two feet/butt/elbow down completion, cross endzone plane with ball = TD. This will cause more fumbles, but fumbles are whacky and fun so why the hell not.

Prime Bill last night, he was .gif-worthy a couple times.

12-4 at worst, 14-2 on the higher end of things
It's almost as if I saw them losing some games this year, strange I know. Let's see if the Patriots can break 10 wins before the Giants break 10 losses.

Also Starman, help me out, when the Giants lose to the Jets at Met-Life does that count as a home loss or a road loss, I'm confused?

Good to see that both you guys care about the Pats so much though, crazy week of football and the only thing you guys feel like commenting on is the Patriots, you must really think about them alot huh?

---------

Strongest (read: Healthiest) team in the AFC right now is The Bengals!, apparently. My pick for team not to sleep on is the Steelers, best WR core in the NFL at this moment.

Wow, talk about a f**king jinx, man that blows for Cincy. Literally the healthiest team staring down a first round-bye for the playoffs and Dalton breaks his thumb trying to tackle someone.

Stogie, how awesome were Khalil Mack's 5 sacks against Denver, what a beast. I don't get to see Raiders games very often but I like what I've seen from Carr and Amari.

The Donald Sterling thing wasn't a tough issue?

I wasn't inclined to agree with you until I read the following (for the first time — somehow I missed it):

Donaghy: That’s a difficult question for me to answer, because I certainly don’t want to offend anybody. … I’m just gonna come out and say it like it is. It’s no secret on the staff that Bill Kennedy is a homosexual. … I don’t have any ill will towards gays or lesbians, but it was no secret that he’s a homosexual. It was known around the league. It was obvious during a game Doc Rivers questioned his sexual orientation, and I think that has stuck with Kennedy over the years — and he has no love for Doc Rivers and the Boston Celtics.

Yeah, he looked like a young Lawrence Taylor out there. I was shocked Denver didn't double team Mack after that second tackle in the end zone. The Raiders have a great receiving core with Cooper and Crabtree. If they can beef up the defense during the offseason and pickup a decent running back, I think they can win the division next year. It's nice to see this organization turn the corner after sucking for more than a decade. They remind me of the Golden State Warriors 4 years ago.

Speaking of the Warriors, I would like to congratulate them on their 24-1 start this season. I remember the days when we were lucky to get 24 wins in a season. I wasn't going to mention the streak until after their first lost. (Didn't want to jinx them.) I honestly believe if Steph Curry is healthy all season, they have a great shot at beating the Bulls 72-10 record.

Just OBJ doing OBJ things. Watching last night I ruled it out at first glance, but Beckham got right up and signaled TD himself, and in that instant I knew the bastard did it.

Wow, pylon cam coming up big there.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick has long been a proponent of fixed cameras. The NFL has resisted using them, due ostensibly to the expense....An industry source predicts that the shots from the pylon cameras will be “worthless” in most cases, pegging the chances of a pylon camera providing a conclusive view of a play at one in 100,000.
The NFL isn't just full of shit, it's cheap as hell too!

I've got some strong jinx mojo this year, just one week after slobbering on Beckham he goes and gets himself suspended for a game for an extremely malicious targeting helmet shot. If he was anyone other that the current NFL superstar darling he'd have been ejected from the game. Really the refs, once again, totally ****ed up. They should have started throwing flags on both Beckham and Norman from the get-go, instead we got Odell launching himself into the side of Norman's head in ultra-hd-slo-mo.

But like I said, the refs allowed so much more to happen throughout the whole game it was a foregone conclusion something violent would happen between them.

-------------

Meanwhile the Pats clinched their 6th consecutive 1st round bye yesterday against the Titans, which extends the current NFL record. @Jets will be a tough game next week, now that Rex is screwing up another team the Jets have played very well this year. Fitzmagic has definitely exceeded my expectations. Also, the Patriots are tied with the Ravens for most players on season-ending IR this year, I can't remember half the guys catching/running the ball at this point.

Couple o things:

NFL vetoed a "no strings attached" $16 mil donation to the NIH because it was going to fund a CTE study

NFL filed the final reply in the ongoing deflategate suit

Adam Silver making the podcast rounds pretending he didn't influence the sixers getting colangelo

Edit: oh yeah federal appeals court struck down the ban on disparaging trademarks, which was used against the redskins moniker. Regardless of my thoughts on the redskins name, I think it's the right move until someone shows me otherwise
