recently, after the demise of an iMac's HD, i found the need for IDE access on my 8500.
i found a card for PC's for 60 bucks US but it has no mac drivers. this is 2X faster and half the price of the
ProMAX card. if anyone is interested, send this guy a line and show some Mac interest, maybe they will
write a driver and WE can use it too....
"Sorry we don't have drivers for Mac System. Maybe down the road we might
support it."

As I mentioned earlier (to myself) there is a company called Promax (www.promax.com) that sells an IDE controlled for (ahem) $129 and it is compatible with any PCI mac, including: 7200/7300/7500/7600/8500/9500/8600/9600/beige G3/B&W G3 etc.
It is called Turbomax and supports 4 IDE devices. It is an 33/66 ULTRA IDE Controller.
BTW I am looking for drivers for a cheeper card so I would appreciate any info!
Thanx
