This drove by me outside my work, parked, and a guy and girl got out and went into the local China Buffet resturant.
I get it's a lotus, but which one? Looking for specs, price, etc.....
Thanks.
p.s. yes, crappy iPhone pics and super quick photoshop merge. sorry.

You don't need to see behind you when you are lapping the Nurburgring.

Or sitting in stop and go traffic on the M4- the only place I've ever seen one.

That's like people who buy a Land Rover and never go off road... horrible. That is not a comfortable car at all to go down the highway in. I'd rather go in a Skoda Fabia backseat anyday.

Land Rovers are posh and comfy, jesus christ. I'd buy one tomorrow and drive it to the mall and drive-thru.
I'd also scoop up a brand new Lotus and take it to the highway. AT SOME POINT there will be traffic.

uh, only the supercharged one has no rearward visibility (window's blocked by the intercooler). there is a window there, just not a big one.

Yeah, but they love being off road. If I had one, it would be going up some billy goat trails, not sitting in traffic all its life. And not all Land Rovers are posh and comfy.

Maybe the owner goes to track days every weekend, and some days fancies using it for work.
OR perhaps they have a great bit of twisty road they use every day.

I am actually looking at getting the slightly more sensible standard Elise. The Exige is pretty sweet but a bit too much dosh for an Elise and a bit too hardcore.
Mediaman_12 - that is exactly what I would use one for. Trackdays, a nice bit of local road and occasionally for a different run when I need to drive for work. Sure would mean you would arrive to work with a smile on your face... except if one was stuck in traffic!
However, if you need to go more hardcore than the Exige, the 2-Eleven is the one to go for

You will actually find you can see through the engine cover mesh, not very well mind you, but see through it you can. If I recall correctly, there is a window in the rear of the passenger cell separating the cell from the engine bay
See here:
This is the rear of the same car with the mesh.

I have seen quite a number of Lotus cars (and a number of different models) here in San Antonio. They make me want one very badly. Sigh.
Anyway, the one in the original post looks like it's the NON-supercharged version. Check out the Lotus web site for some really incredible pictures of the Exige. And it looks like the supercharged version actually has an air scoop that goes all the way over the top and down the back to form a really big pillar in the middle-it really seems like there IS a rear view in either version.

I see plenty around here, of course I'm sure it's because of the area.
They're nice, but for some reason all the ones over here are horribly ugly colors.

You do get to see some nice kit where you are, don't you IceEnclosure!
That is one thing I like about London. I work in The City (for those of you that don't know, The City does not refer to London itself but rather the main financial district or "square mile" inside of London. Anyhoo, I get to see some lovely cars their being driven by the bankers or their companies. The other day I saw five identical new S600's (not the rarest or most impressive car but as a group...) all in black with consecutive number plates and driving in convoy. Quite imposing.
Saw a McLaren Mercedes SLR on Wednesday. Heaps of 911's, Astons (the V8 Vantage is very popular at the moment), the odd F430 plus a 599 last week. Of course, all mixed in with Prius's who don't have to pay the congestion charge!

oooo, yea - McLaren SLR drag racing itself up and down the road in front of my work (with the ocean as a backdrop).. 430, 599, 612, GT2, GT3, Turbo, Lambo Gallys and Murcis. It's too bad I don't have a good spot to take pics of them any more.

Miami has loads of nice cars... I just don't get that town though (unless you are super loaded). Instead of being a poor nobody in Miami, I'd rather move somewhere with CHEAPER apartments/houses/condos so I could actually afford a cool car, instead of just lusting after others with them. >shrug<

I guess I'm the poor nobody in question. When I'm seeing cars though, it's usually in Fort Lauderdale, as that's where I live. I don't want to move, I like the palm trees.

Not to resurrect an old thread, but had to post this. Same parking lot outside where I work, and where I spotted the Lotus. Shot today. I believe this is the Audi R8? (again, same shitty iPhone camera and same quick crappy photoshop job)
Lot's of Ferraris etc here also these days it seems.

Yup, that's an R8.
My brother has been studying in Ingolstadt, Germany (headquarters of Audi) for the past several months and he tells me he sees those all the time.

So what you're really trying to say is that the iPhone takes crappy pictures?
I agree. And also the car in the first post is plum ugly.
Man, you guys who are posting pics need to do some reduction work!

You'd expect it to be, but for the fact that it's *tiny*.
It's very very cool-looking in person. (For some reason, though, I find the Elise needs to be yellow, kind of like Ferraris need to be red.)

I saw an orange Exige and a yellow Elise yesteday. I would size the pictures down to 600 pixels wide and show you, but I didn't take any pictures.

I think it would look better without the spoiler. I'm not a big spoiler guy. Some cars can pull it off though.

Another good Elise/Exige color is "Krypton Green":
That one also doesn't have a spoiler. I also prefer cars without spoilers, but I forgive the Exige completely because it's a pure track car that sacrifices everything for performance. It's uglier and doesn't have a convertible top, but that's all done in the interest of making it faster around a track.

I like Lotus, my father had a cortina
The elise/exiges are all light because of glued carbon fiber, so a minor bump will render it useless.
I'll settle with a TVR

The correct answer to any "what kind of Lotus is this?" question is redundant. "The cool kind" goes without saying.
Luca, there's someone who works in the building next to mine at school who drives a slightly older, DARK green Elise, like the one in the background of your picture. Lovely car, and the understated color enhances how cool it is.
