hi there,

since usually only the people with complaints write here, i thought to let you know, that i consider my new macbook a very great value!
the machine replaced my powerbook 1,5, 80, radeon 9700.
i bought the 2g white version.

there is no noise (whine, whatever) the build quality is superb and what matters most: it is amazingly fast and blows my old book to pieces in nearly every app that i use every day ( Logic Pro, WaveEditor, etc.)

i was a little skeptical about buying a rev a model, but than again all my macs who had serious issues, were rev c, or d ...

the screen, though in some aspects not as good as my powerbooks has one clear advantage:
i can finally work outside and see what i'm doing!

i have to say that i clearly do understand that people get annoyed when buying a defective product, but hey, you can always return it. ( had to do this with the pb 3 times, plus two screen repairs and three keyboards coming lose... i love that warranty)

after all that bs hype about altivec or the superduper g5, i'm happy that apple can finally deliver a really fast machine for a relatively small amount of money.

but the 150 for the black paint is ridiculous... i'd rather get a bigger hd for that money.

see ya on the other side!

What's it like going from the 15" screen to a 13"? thats the only thing bugging me about maybe going from my PB to a MB.

I saw one this past weekend at the Apple store. I have a previous version iBook... and it seemed of the similar quality (good).

I would hate to jinx myself, but I'm just going to come out and say it as well.

My hat is off to Apple for my new Black Macbook. Everything is flawless. No whine, no problem. The screen looks great!

It's replacing my 12" 1.5GHz Powerbook & my Powermac G4 dual 1.25GHz. I've got it plugged into my 23" ACD spanning and running great, even with the stock 512MB RAM. I've got 2 gigs on order scheduled for delivery tomorrow and I can't wait to see how this baby flies with that upgrade.

Again, let it ring from the top of a great mountain! There are some very satisfied Macbook owners out there, and I'm one of them!

I went from a Dell with a 15" 1400x1050 screen to this and alrhough it is smaller, I dont have any complaints. I will also concur with the original poster about how happy with this computer I am and how well built and everything it is.

I'm glad to see good things being said about the Macbook. I've been on the fence about buying one. As soon as I sell one of my guitars, I'm getting one. I can't wait.

Build quality actually seems quite a bit better than the iBooks.
