The wait....is over.
I just got my new dual USB iBook from MacZone. Damn, this is a nice puter.
no dead pixels, no HD sound, just meat and potatoes.
however, the free RAM upgrade wasn't installed, so I guess I got to get out the ol' pliers and get after it.
(what size of phillip's screwdriver does it take?)
Anyway, about the screen.....
The screen is just prestine (spell?). Very clear, very sharp (even in OS 9.1)
from what I have seen so far, this screen may be easier on the eyes than my 17" CRT display at home.
BTW, how hard is it to install RAM?
Anyway, got to go (you know where!)
See you all!

Congrats.

Not too bad. I used a jewler's small flathead screwdriver to remove the screws from the RAM cover (the Philip's I had was too big). It pops in like any other SO-DIMM, I guess (insert it at an angle and pop it down into the clips).

Installing the RAM itself is simple -- upgraded my DVD 'Book last night. Getting those teeny screws out, tho, that was a chore! One came out with a little effort, the other was almost impossible. Finally went to the hardware store for the suggested jeweler's screwdriver...which broke when I tried to turn it. FINALLY got it to budge and from there it was a snap (literally).

Okay, got the new RAM in....no problem whatsoever.
And to answer your questions, I got the good ol' base model: CD-ROM
