Runescape works great for me in Safari. Might be the speed of your Mac or your internet connection. The coffee cup and arrows indicate that Java is still loading.

Really!? That comes as a surprise. I can't hear any sounds in RuneScape® in Safari, and according to Point 5 of the RuneScape Technical FAQ, neither can anybody else.

Because of this sound problem, I've been playing the Flash-based tactical fantasy MMORPG/interactive cartoon Dofus, instead. Unlike RuneScape®, Dofus actually lets me hear sounds in Safari.
