My 466mhz SE is shutting off, requiring a restart and to be plugged into the AC adapter in order to get it up and going again.

Some times when this happens, I even need to reset the date.

Most of the time it dies, it is showing about 40-50% battery power left.

Sometimes it dies sooner, a couple of times it does not die at all.

I have reset the Power Manager

I have taken the battery back out and reinstalled it and made sure it was not loose. It seems okay.

Am I missing something?

Hi Clay.

I thought only the newer models had that. When I went to an Apple store yesterday with my woe, the guy after me was with similar problem .. but with the 700 MB icebook. Have you used the battery a lot? SInce when that happened? Aaaand.. i can't resist asking, are you going to be in an Apple store tomorrow? The genius bar will close in W******ld at 6pm, and the geniuses probably won't know an answer to that ... (but I'll be there and I guess so will a lot of other people too). (6-10pm)

Hi!

No, I have not been out to that Apple store before....I picked this ibook up and like all of my others and have only used it a few times.

I just drained the battery in single user mode and reset the Power Manager again. I did gain some time on the estimated battery time but have not tried running it yet on the battery. I also placed some spacers in an effort to tighten up the battery connection. This iBook does seem to have some flex.
