Apple's marketbase is primarily liberal, and they're offended by everything.

Does this apply to iTMS, or to tunes used in the app itself? O_o;

I have kids and am growing tired of what is out there today on tv, radio, etc. I don't mind when I see something go the other way every so often.

Once when we took our daughter and a few of her friends to see an animated movie, (they were all about 7 at the time, they showed R rated movie previews before the movie started. You don't think that caused an uproar. It was also a little uncomfortable for us parents.

I am not a liberal, a conservative or a prude. Just growing tired and weary of what passes for acceptable sometimes.

Yeah. There seems to be a lot more sex in TV these days too. One big example that comes to mind is "Joey". I guess instead of making good TV, they just put a lot of T&A in it so that people will watch just about anything. Don't get me wrong - sex is great, but when i want to watch TV, i want to watch good TV, not bad PG13 porn.

I should have specified the censoring was in iTuMS.

I thought conservatives were offended by everything.

For example in "Liberal" countries in Europe we have cursing, nudity and even sex on mainstream television.

^^ Word. I haven't been to Europe, but I love how hardly anything is censored.

Anyone remember the HappiJuice commercial in Eurotrip??

TV networks are too cheap to pay for decent programming, so now most of the shows on TV are scriptless (no writers to pay) and talentless (no actors to pay) and lack creativity (just use hack directors).

On topic, I don't think ITMS should censor music searches, but perhaps a parental control for "safe searching" would be useful.
Scooters are more fun than computers and only slightly more frustrating

iTunes isn't a government or anything. They have a right to control their content if they want. It doesn't limit your own freedom of expression one whit. If the government forced you to express yourself in a certain way, it's just as bad as if they prevented you from expressing yourself.

I think it's Ok to clean the text on the music store as long as the music itself is not altered.
Prince's Sexy M.F. was always censored on MTV, but on iTunes you get it the real version, and funny enough the preview is explicit as well:
Prince: Sexy Mother F.....

Unless the theater made a mistake, they may show previews *about* R-rated movies before the animated movie to which you took your daughter, but the previews are G-rated.

I just looked up this album on iTMS, and the words "Ice Cream Truck" are NOT censored. What are you talking about?

Let's not forget the actors's strike from a few years ago. That action, in part, led to the crap programming we have now.

Crap programming and crap news is why I threw out the TV. I don't own one and see no need for one (unless I buy an XBox). Life is so much better without the boob tube.

If there is a show I'm dyin' to watch I can wait for the DVD.
