No one picked up on this? SWG?
http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/05/09/...r-wars-movies/
We absolutely knew that George Lucas was not done with the Star Wars universe. The Star Wars creator revealed to Fox News that he will make two more live-action Star Wars films.
“But they won’t have members of the Skywalker family as characters,” he said. “They will be other people of that milieu.”
The two “extra” movies will probably be one hour in length and made for television.
At the one hour length, what will differentiate the upcoming hour-long live-action Star Wars television series from the films? Wouldn’t it be a good idea to make them a bit longer?

If you look at the comments of that post, a lot of people are upset that Lucas would be putting these films out on tv.... but there is no evidence of that anywhere. Slashfilm doesn't know anything and is just assuming, making even more ignorant readers. GRRRRR!!!!! One hour made for tv movies do not exist!

Finally, we'll know the life story of that droid that was in that X-Wing that got blown up over the Death Star in the first movie.

Star Wars cartoon similar to Clone Wars? Cool. Frankly, a Star Wars cartoon can do no wrong. I remember watching Droids as a kid and I liked it then (now, not so much).
Star Wars live action TV show? Make it about Han, Lando, and Boba Fett in their late-teens and it could be ok. Add Chewie and IG-88 for flavour. Maybe a young Padawan chick in hiding too? (Gotta have lightsabers and The Force, after all.)
I originally heard that the live action TV show was gonna be Luke Skywalker growing up. The actors who played Owen and Beru in Clones'n'Sith were ready to go. What: you don't wanna watch Luke bull's-eye Wamprats in his T16 back home?

I tried watching Ep3 last night and got so fed up 40 min before the end I shut it off.
I am not looking forward to any more star wars, it has become to geeky with fans more concerned that you can see a 2 second shot of the Falcon landing in the background over the damn STORY and acting.

They REALLLY missed the boat to make a spinoff Han Solo film when Harrison Ford was still young enough.
It would have been awesome too. You coulda had Billy D Williams, Jabba the Hut and all the old cronies from back in the day. Pity...

They could have called it Han Solo's Dance Party and set it on the sunny beaches of Tatooine.

Yep. That already happened with the 1978 Holiday Special, but after brief and spectacular rehabilitation with "Empire Strikes Back" (which he thankfully neither directed nor wrote the dialog for himself), he removed all doubt with that ****ing teddy-fest in "Return of the Jedi".

I preferred The Clone Wars' look when it was on Cartoon Network. Genndy Tartakovsky's characters look better with a flat look, not in 3D.

Thrilling.... I am excited for the animated series, but it does look more serious than the original 2D cartoon.

The movie talk was officially explained/shot down last week.
EXCLUSIVE: It's Official, No New Star Wars Movies Coming!
George Lucas recently said that he is planning two more Star Wars movies, most likely for TV. Can you tell me anything about that?
Steven Sansweet: No, no, no, no. There are going to be two more Star Wars television series. One of them is well into production. That is Star Wars: Clone Wars. It's a CG animated show, which we suspect will be on the air sometime next year. And then George and Rick McCullen were just now starting work on a live action series. A drama. That will probably be coming out in 2009 or 2010. He is actively at work on both of those. But the CG animated series is more adult. It has a lot of humor in it. It is very cinematic. We will be talking about that for the first time at the celebration.
Well, there was an article making the rounds on the Internet that Lucas was planning two made-for-TV movies based in the Star Wars universe. So, that's not true?
Steven Sansweet: There is no truth to that whatsoever. I haven't even seen that rumor. I can absolutely tell you that is not true.

I wouldn't mind seeing a series based on the restructuring of the Jedi. Similar to the setting of Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Outcast.

That wouldn't be bad, but since a game already shares that story line, it wouldn't be as fresh.
Then again, my suggestion wouldn't either, I suppose, since many books are written in the time after the fall of the Empire. Seriously though, who reads Star Wars books anyways?

frankly I'm a little sick of star wars. There's no more story to tell. The star wars story was about The skywalkers, primarily Luke and Anakin. While the back story was important, The prequels spent far too much time on the crumbling Republic and junk like that. Notice in Star Wars that the background is constantly explained, but never overbearing. You only see it in terms of association to the characters, not some massive concept that the characters are just a part of.

Never saw the original clone wars. The animation turned me off, personally. All I remember was the original clone wars was suppose to be the bridge between Episode 2 and 3. Not sure if this is just a remake or new. It'll be new to me as I've never seen either.
The Star Wars saga of Luke and Anakin is a SMALL piece of the big picture. Knights of the Old Republic, for example, was 2000 years before that. Then you have the Jedi Outcast/Academy games which take place years after the trilogy. All the games are actually based off of various books, in the series. I would have liked to see them go that route instead of the prequels, to be honest.

Knights is actually about 4,000 ears before the Battle of Yavin. Yeah, Luke and Anakin are a really small part of the Star Wars story. I think the Solo children are more important than Luke or Anakin Skywalker ever were, not to mention the Mandalorians who happen to be in every major conflict since Knights.

I've read them all. After you read the books, though, the movies become much more difficult to enjoy as I'm constantly reminded of how terrible Lucas is at dialogue and at avoiding convenient story devices (see: Episodes 1-3). If you like to read at all, I really do recommend checking out the Extended Universe though - something like fifty books from some amazing authors.
