Photo Control's website (bookendzdocks.com) still only has the news release from MWNY '01, without any pictures or details.

I'm really curious to find out how they will solve the problem that the power plug is on the opposite side of all the other ports.

Has anybody seen pictures of the iBook-dock prototype that was shown at MWNY? I was there for only an hour and missed it. If you know of a picture, please post the URL. If you took a picture yourself, please put it up on the web (or e-mail it to me and I'll be glad to host it).

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

Here is a site with picures of what looks to be the new iBook docking station. Hopefully it will not be as expensive as the powerbook version... http://suyama.co.jp/2001ny/01ny03.html

Good find, DAB. Thanks. It looks kind of strange to me, but hopefully they will improve it before it ships in "Fall 2001".

I really wish that somebody would make a Duo Dock-style docking station for the iBook that sucked it in like a VCR sucks in a VHS tape. IMO, nothing beats sticking your 'Book in a slot when you get home. The other docks still require too much fiddling.

If you have a desk at home, with a monitor, printer, cd burner, external hard-drive, speakers, Keyboard, mouse, and or other misc. items. With this "dock" you would just leave those device connected to it, and when needed hook up your iBook to it. Easier and quicker that a cable tangle connection. When you are ready to go, "click" you are gone.

I have to hook up four devices every time I come to work...

it's a pain in the ass and leaving them all laying on my desk or if one slips and falls back behind just add problems to my day...

th edock is going to be worth it as long as it's less than $50

The beauty of consumerism is that if it isn't worth it to you... you don't have to buy it.

I think you are dreaming. I highly doubt they will come in under $50 retail for even this cheap looking dock.
