Assalamu 3alaikum,
If a file is unknown to the finder in Mac OS X, then the finder will activate a dialog that says the file doesn't have an associated application. Then it gives you the chance to pick an application that would be associated with that file. Is there a way I can control that power of that dialog through API? Meaning when my application starts up, I want to tell the finder that my application will open all files with a certain extension, or type. Is this possible in Carbon?

Didn't someone already reply to this in another thread? *shrug*
In project builder, set it under the Target Settings (click on Application Settings, scroll to the bottom and add your types, selecting the Role to be Editor if you want to edit it). If you're using a CFM application in CodeWarrior, i guess you'd just use BNDL resources as normal.
