Hi guys,
I've gotten back to a previous project and have been able to switch over to CSS, XHTML desgin, but I'm having trouble with what I'm sure is a very simple problem.

I can't get my footer DIV to display at the bottom, it jumps up to just below my header DIV.

from what i've learned so far, it seems as if you're having this problem because you have no main content between your navigation and footer.

if you create say a div with the id content and then fill that div with a few paragraphs then the footer will adjust accordingly.

of course you'll need to place the new div after the navigation and before the footer in your html code.

i think this should correct it.

Content alone didn't do it, i had to use float elements for the right and left side bars and not specify position rules for anything beyond the container DIV. I'll post again when I've got a better revision.

It could be a stacking order. Take a look at the CSS for my web site and you will note that in order to properly position the different elements (such as the right menu) the are stacking order rules in the CSS.

I think I manged to get everything figured out. I haven't run any validators on my site yet, but I'm pleased that it looks pretty much the same in both Firefox and IE6.

The main page is a little sparse, but I've been working on the site as a whole for about 6 hours today and I'm a little sleepy.

I'd appreciate any feedback you have to offer. This was my first big project with CSS and XHTML.
