Anyone who's read Calvin and Hobbes is probably aware of Calvin's habit of building... um... special snowmen. It seems that someone over at Something Awful has set out to build them. Pictures -along with the comics they're derived from- are here. I've always been fond of the "snowmen prophets of doom" comic myself.

I'm not sure I hold with the idea of using red for the mouths, but I have to admit, some strange part of me loves these things.

The stupidity of locking the mods down like this rears it's ugly head once again.

They are great thanks

I'm not locked down; I'm just not a mod here. I moderate the Developer and Web Developer forums only. I used to moderate this forum too, many moons ago, but I stopped for personal reasons.

I know that it can be confusing to see the "Moderator" badge by my name even in forums where I'm not a mod. I've brought this up to the staff in the past, but they didn't take well to the idea of removing the badge in forums where a moderator isn't active.

I'm well aware you only have powers in those forums mil. That is my point. Too few people to fix so many simple little things.

This is so cool.
I own all the Calvin and Hobbes comics (not however all the books). and it is easily my favorite comic series (alongside Farside but Farside's are all one-offs, no continuing story arcs).

For those you don't know the complete collection (in one freakishly large volume) of Calvin and Hobbes is being released at the end of the year.

I was expecting some pictures of snowmen.

The car one is my favorite.

I also like it when he makes little snow men then acts like a Dinosaur... stomping and eating them.

They're always great. The communist one is funny too, when his dad's coming home and all the snowmen are saluting him.

Strangely, they didn't look as graphic when I first the Calvin snowmen cartoons years ago ... perhaps it's all the blood in the real life ones ...

Thank you, you just made my day much better.
Those are awesome.
Strangely enough, my gf's brother and I were just going through all his C&H books just 3 days ago looking at all the demented snowmen.
