Hi all,

For some reason, ever since I had to reinstall Tiger (and dragged a bunch of my old system files into the new system folder), the Dictionary panel refuses to pop up. I assume that one such file I dragged between system installations is the culprit for why my panel won't display, but I have no idea which this would be.

It's very odd. It's so annoying that finally I felt like making this post, hoping someone would know what file triggers this activity / functionality. If I set the preference in the Dictionary application to open the app versus pop up a panel, then everything works. When I switch the preference back to using the panel, nothing happens.

Any ideas? Thanks

Did you move your dictionary app? I think it has to stay on the top level of the Applications folder. I put mine in my Utilities folder (in the Applications folder) and it stopped responding. I moved it back and it worked fine again.
