I am having a problem with my launcher window. I restarted my macintosh running 8.6 and the launcher is so large I can't see the bottom of it. I tried to find the bottom of it and I couldn't seem to find it. It is just annoying to have the screen so large anybody have any ideas?

haven't used launcher in years, do not even have it on my Mac, tossed it... but maybe there is a Launcher pref's file you can trash and that may fix it

Yep. Had this problem before. I'm running OS 8.6. I found you have to trash the prefs and -- unfortunately-- trash Launcher and install a new fresh one from your software disk. One alternative is if you have a "happy" backup available when all was well. In that case you can copy the Launcher extension and install that one. Good luck.

I guess this doesn't really help, but I never saw any need for the launcher anyway. It's functions are duplicated elseware in the OS. I leave my favorites folder as a popup window on the desk top, so there's my quick program launcher and a place to drag a file to have a particular program open it. And the desktop switcher bar provides program switching. This arrangement works well for me, causes less screen clutter and has the added bonus of saving a little system overhead, since I no longer need to load Launcher.

I have 8.6 and 9.0 intsalled (on the same partition, thanks to Conflict Catcher) and use a combination of the Apple Menu and the control strip, and FinderPop to launch apps and whatever and to connect to the internet. Works OK and doesn't crash - keep items in Apple Menu to a minimum and you should be OK! Hope this helps.
