Hullo everybody!
My is a Mac OS X, 10.4.11, processor dual PowerPC G4, 1.25 GHz;
my hd is partitioned in two sections: alfa part is 90 GB (only 9 GB free); it contains the OS plus all the daily applications and files. Beta is 207 GB (55 free) containing some less used archives.
The space on Alfa is mostly used by images (iPhoto) for over 30 GB and iTunes (other 30 GB).
Question 1
is it possible to shift some occupancy from Alfa to Beta (or to an external disk) without repartitioning the hd (i.e. without reinstalling the OS)?
Question 2
in alternative, how could I back up (on internal or ext.l disk) iPhoto and iTunes libraries in order to cancel part of the existing archive? i.e. mantain on Alfa only the newest records and if needed recall the oldest ones.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Simple answer: buy a larger hard drive, they are pretty cheap these days. You still have a drive bay empty, right?

Agreed. While you can repartition a live drive with iPartition or even Disk Utility (in Leopard or higher), a 300 GB drive is pretty sad today. Go get a 2 TB drive for $80. It will give you a nice speed boost.
