How would this compare to the G5? I didn't really know where this topic belonged...

That computer reminds me of those guys that do those competitions for Mr. Universe. They have all the muscles, oil, and gawdy tans but they looks like freaks.

I mean, what's the point? Are you a big gamer? For $7,000 you might as well as just face the fact. It's overkill. Go buy a 50" LCD TV and a playstation... hell, buy a playstation, Xbox, and Gamecube. You'll still have money left over to buy the Playstation 3 on eBay the day it comes out. If you are interested in general computing... then once again, it's overkill.

ON A RELATED NOTE...

Does anyone know where their UI designer got his inspiration for this web page?

I thought it was determined awhile ago that all that stuff was fake on that site.

Either way, you can't compare any PC to a G5 simply because PCs don't run Mac OS X. That's three strikes in my book!

C'mon, it's only Mach 3.8 the G5 is better cuz' 5 > 3.8.

Start building from here if you really want to start looking at a performance PC.

There was a long thread earlier about that company's site earlier in the lounge.

I am surprised the site is still going as many including me felt it was frued.

Anyone heard some real reviews on the hardware yet?

Their models should've been out already.

There is a lot of announcing going on there.

In keeping with that theme, I'm annoucing an incredible oct-g6 with liquid helium cooling and a 3D airport cranial integration chip (minor outpatient surgery required).

Order now, and save $140,000.

A single Pentium 4 has been shown to be trounced by the Dual 2 gig G5. And as an added bonus, Macs don't ship with Windows XP.

I've never seen such a load of superlatives and hype in my life. Nice approximation of Apple's website, though. Lots of colorful images to go with all the superlatives, like "blistering," "coloassal," "Awe-inspiring brute-force" "record-breaking...lightening speeds." "most spectacular cooling system ever," "industry changing," "unparalleled," "radically new extreme levels," "unthinkable capabilities, radically shattering all competition."

Please. Spare us.

It's ugly.

The 3 LCD screens look cool, but who actually has the room for that?

The OS is still Windows!

People bitch about the cost of a Mac!

It's a fake website, all the products advertized are fake. That means the desktops, laptops and monitors. Don't you think we would have heard of a 3.8ghz pentium 4 elsewhere?
