Yeah, I thought about the 22" but for less I got two 17"'ers. More desk top space, plus I bought one on the saver program and cashed in $300 back.

The total cost?

The Dr. Bott DVIator.....I forgot to put that in the cost. I had one laying around from my previous computer.

Oh, a second hard drive, and the other graphics card. An ATI Radeon 7500 to power the other LCD.

Damn, I have spent *way* too much money this past year.

CyberCooler pad. 3- fans- nearly silent. Keeps the underside of my TiBook like ice, not a trace of heat even after a full day of use. The internal fan in the TiBook never runs when on one of these. I bought 3 of these things, (they cost $15) one for each desk I may happen to be at with my TiBook, at home or at work.

That is the beauty of OS X. You can set it up the way that YOU like it!

I think the dock is one of the things I like best about OS X. I got mine at the side, this way I can flick really quickly to use it, instead of going all the way to the bottom. It is always hidden too... I love OS X!!!!!

Indeed the whole protected memory, virtual memory, and process manager thing has me usually running with 10 apps open. I would never do that in X...

Nince setup though. I really want a TiBook. You bastard!!!!

On my dp800 I keep at least 30 icons in the dock, sometiumes as many as 40, etc, and that takes up maybe half my screen

It can get waay longer too

Ok, I finally got my act together enough to get a pic of my setup:

� 5 Compaq iPaq 3630
� 6 Dell Latitude
� 7 Dell Dimension XPSD350
� 8 Altec Lansing sub-woofer
� 9 Dell PowerEdge 300 Win2k server

Other stuff lying about includes a Zip drive, USB floppy drive, an HP DeskJet somethingorother, an Asante 8 port hub, Motorola cable modem, portable CD player, portable minidisc recorder and other assorted electronic gizmos.

Obviously not all that lot is there all of the time. The portable machines come and go as I need them. The Latitude tends to sit on my desk in the office for most of the week and only comes home at weekends. Neither of the iBooks really get used anywhere other than on my lap with my feet up on the coffee table in the lounge at the moment. I love my iPaq. Admittedly I don't do a hell of a lot on it just now other than keep a couple of spreadsheets up to date but it (and my cellphone) comes with me practically everywhere.

we are still working on it though... I did set them up briefly for Team MacNN, but I have since moved to australia and i just use these machines via ssh now, although my cousin uses them. We just haven't got the space to setup any of the spare machines solely to support TeamMacNN. It's my counsin who has to work around them, and it is really cramped in there already. especially with the new g4s. All the G4s in the photo are actually DP 500s - I forgot we bought 2 or 3 more last year for blackshoals. I haven't a clue where the rest of the computers are. We had some programmers working for us and I expect they still have their machines. And I think my cousin gave his neighbour a g4, another cousin one... his mum has his old powerbook, maybe his gf has one. No matter, we have plenty.

Especially with the 3 new dual GHZ machines.
