just bought an iMac and want to transfer all files from 6100 to it. I guess connecting the two machine via the ethernet ports is the way to do it. Anyone has experience and tips?

You need a cross-over Ethernet cable and an AAUI adapter for your 6100. Set them both to connect via Ethernet and turn file sharing on.

I Have a 7100/66 hooked up to my Imac and they both work fine. First, I had to buy a ethernet card which was about $60 to 80 dallors. Next, get a cross over cable. Lastly get 8.1 or 8.5 on the 6100 (It helps alot). I'll tell you one thing if your thinking about playing Marathon or Quake on your network!! Then you'd better look at upgraging the 6100 fast. (Small screen sucks)
