I tried hooking up my external LCD to my MBP running Vista... everything shows up fine in the display properties, but the monitor doesn't display anything. I even tried it at its lowest resolution (800x600) with no luck.

Is this a known issue, or is there something special I have to do?

did you click on the other monitor in display properties, then check the option to extend the desktop onto that monitor?

Yup. all the options in display properties are set as they should be.

Extend monitor checked
Resolution set obnoxiously low so there's no way there would be an error b/c of that
