Quicksilver G4 10.4.6,
- Wanted to reset password (unknown password for account) so i booted to tiger disk #1 which cause kernel panics 2 times. I booted from another disk and repaired permissions and disk but reset password had no accounts in it.
- After restarting i get the hey lets initialize your mac app and it wants me to create an account.
- I said wtf and tried archive and install with users and network settings checked but upon restart the initialization app starts again.

Did netinfo somehow get screwed up and lose track of my existing user accounts?

If so is there an easy way to get them back?

thanks in advance for any help

note: after the initial panic when it would only boot to single user i saw etc/Master.passwd file or directory not found. I repaired permissions and disk from the other dvd and and it would get passed single user but now im stuck with reinitializing
