This is my opinion after mucking around for ages with Expose, and having it be useful.

Screw F9, F10, and F11

Far more intuitive stokes are

Command Right-click for show all windows
Option Right-click for show desktop

Show all windows in applications? Come on, I'm a mac user, I can barely deal with a 2 button mouse. It doesn't provide much more decisive clarity that "show all windows"

Actually I feel less clarity, as there are "some" in the foreground and then some other stuff in the background. Show all is elegant and effective.

Any other panther users have opinions?

Poor Apple. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Some people just hate everything.
Bitter bastich. If you don't like it, don't use it Nobody is forcing you to use expose.

Me too.
Top right corner for all windows and bottom right for desktop.
No hot key/corner for application windows, that's kinda useless for me.

I use hot corners...

Left top for show all apps (because I rarely use the apple menu)

Left bottom for show desktop.

I love ti and keep reaching for it when I'm back in Jag.

I use a combination of hot corners and mouse buttons, I have a Logitech MX mouse and I use the APP switch button for DESKTOP (nice quick access to the desktop), I use the wheel button for ALL WINDOWS and bottom right corner for APP WINDOWS, top right for ALL WINDOWS again.

Works awesome and gives me flexibility!

Expose is the first thing I've seen that will make my third and fourth mouse buttons on my Intellimouse useful.

My Intellimouse doesn't fully work. The Microsoft Prefpane does nothing at all, but I'm still using the older version (3.1). How did you got it work?

If you're a lefty, I suppose.

I didn't realize the hot corners made the windows 'sticky'. It didn't make sense so I hadn't tried it. Corners rock.

And it works mouse switching across CodeTeks Virtual Desktops. That really rocks.

I read the title of this thread and thought of CocoaGestures. It interferes with text input in Panther, though. I e-mailed the developer hoping for an update.

Exposé + CocoaGestures = Sweet!

I would agree if I wasn't using a Pismo.

Side note...all F keys are working for me. No problems, no bugs, no crashes.

Screw the intellimouse software. It is really bad believe me. I used to use it on my wireless intellimouse then I uninstalled it because it wasn't letting me sleep anymore. Use something like usb overdrive instead. If you don't have the m$ drivers installed mouse 3, 4, and 5 should be able to be used for expose. I don't have panther yet so I can't try it out.

When I get it I suppose I'll use both my mouse (buttons 4 and 5)for speed and I'll use hot corners for drag and drop .

I've been thinking about what will be the ideal setup for my iBook, since I find the function keys to be too inconvenient to reach for when using this feature a lot.
Dual 1 ghz MDD with 80 gig and 1.25 DDR
17' Flat Panel Studio Display
14' 800 mhz iBook 30 gig and 256 SDRAM
20 gig iPOD

The new intellimouse drivers take away the function of the wheel button. It no longer allows you to click it once and then scroll up and down pages. I liked that feature, but whatever. So I'm using the wheel button for the F9 function of expose. Its not bad, I'd rather have the click+scroll option back, but this is a decent alternative.
