So, they're shooting the Silent Hill movie in my town (Brantford, Ontario) next week.

They've been very secretive about details of the movie, such as cast and plot line. All most people know is that it's been renamed to Centralia, and will be based off of the first two silent hill games...

Is anyone here interested in seeing it when it hits the big screen?

I might be able to get some shots of the setup, it looks pretty gloomy, which funnily enough is why they picked our town. Our downtown is the ugliest most broken down in canada.. so i can see why they chose us

Comments?

Better actors?

For comparison, Resident Evil 1 and 2 was pretty disappointing.

Centralia is the name of that town that has the coal mine undergournd that has been burning since 1961. The fire sends toxic fumes up through ground and makes people sick. It literally has been closed by the gov't. It's a pretty effed up story.

Maybe to you. I thoroughly enjoyed that bitch. Best damn game movie I've ever seen. Yeah, dialogue was goofy at times, but hey, the characters were dumbshit religious nutbags. They're not exactly known for their smarts. Hell, you should be glad. Look at how Pyramid Head deals with fundies.

Sorry, for movies like this I tend to listen more to my dorkie brethren than dipshit critics.

I played 2 of the 4 games and LOVED almost everything about them. I was 100% convinced the movie was going to be pretty good. This one was way worse than I thought.

It is almost exactly like the game. That doesn't mean that is a good thing as a games shouldn't be just like a movie.

Hey, I completely understand. It really is one of those flicks where some people love it, some people hate it and some people just say "meh". Sorta like Jon Cusak romcoms..

I too have played two of the games and went in thinking it was going to surpass Resident Evil is suckage. I found myself to be pleasantly surprised with the visuals (most) and translation from my xbox to the big screen. It had some serious balls and made no attempts to make it easy to follow. I look forward to an unrated cut. In any case, I hope it does well enough to inspire studios to take more interesting risks.

I mean, c'mon, how many people love the Star Wars flicks? Talk about SUHUUHHHUUUHUUCK.

Star Wars does suck from a dialog standpoint but it is much much more entertaining visually and audibly.

I just like seeing The Emperor lay the smackdown on that uppidy Yoda.

The star wars films don't sink as low as the SH movie does in it's worse moments, but there's also nothing in them that's even half as cool as the better scenes in this film (eg. the Janitor or Pyramid Head scenes).

It was funny, I could tell it was filmed in Ontario just because of one quick shot on the streetlights. That a pyramid head was the highlight of the film.

Eh, it was freaky, though my friends who have played all the games have been nit picking it apart. So goes the life of a video game turned into a movie.
