Hillary Clinton caught in lie (per video) about "dodging sniper fire."

Guess she never changes: She's incapable of telling the truth and/or not exaggerating (greatly) the truth.

Sinbad's a nice guy in person. He's also a huge Mac fan.

Exactly, why send an "A-list"er to a dangerous situation?

"I remember landing under sniper fire, there was no greeting ceremony, and basically we were told to run to our cars. Now that is what happened."

You cued the apologists too early.

Very funny stuff. Look at the best the Democrats could come up with. Cue McCain electoral landslide.

I find it hilarious the Conservatives in here post 90% of the anti-other-party rhetoric yet accused the Liberals of ripping on Bush constantly just for the hell of it.

I find it hilarious that a Presidential candidate has to "Hollywood" her stories like that. And I also find it hilarious that she would assume that no one would see if her story checks out. Will Farrell is funny, too.

On politicians and lying. They go hand in hand. What the point of the original poster should be is that she's not a very good liar therefore would make a crappy president.

That actually may be one tactic she will use, just like when she said she could barely remember her husband's impeachment trial.

Vast right wing conspiracy?

"B-but maybe it was January and not December...!"
Clearly, the memory was seared, seared in her...

The thing that surprises me, is not that such a creepy political hack as Hillary would of course be a shameless liar that "remembers" things that never happened to try and dress up events, but that the media actually bothered to check up on it for once.

I'd bet any amount that if Obama weren't running, and Hillary was the forgone conclusion Dem front-runner, this would never see the light of day except on some conservative blog that managed to dig up the footage.

The usual suspects- including the Dan Rather wing of the media that's hardly above politically motivated forgery- would be saying "Oh, it's just those crazy right-wingers out to get Hillary! Everyone else who was there and didn't see any snipers is just trying to swiftboat her! It's because she's a woman...!"

If she ever had to run from a plane under sniper fire, I could maybe buy the "I made a mistake" line; past events do become blurred together if they have enough similarity. Has Hillary Clinton ever had to run from a plane under sniper fire?

But, really, for me this just falls under the category of "Politicians exaggerating or lying outright". Clinton does it (obviously), Obama does it, McCain does it, Bush does it. It would be really refreshing for once to see a truly honest leadership candidate. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible ... honest people simply don't want the job.

I find it absolutely bizarre, in this day and age where everything is recorded and much of it easily available to the entire world, that politicians think they can get away with this kind of crap.

Why is anyone still bringing coverage to her? Isn't she done for? Shouldn't we just let her fade away and ignore her since she has no shot? LOL

It's not that honest people don't want the job, it's more that honest people don't stand a chance of getting so far.

In order to raise in popularity, to gain support of the colleagues, of the media, of the people in general... you have to get ok with a lot of people and mindsets, and an honest character would pretty quickly offend with some circles or the others pretty quickly, so he would go down like a ship crashing on the shore.

More flexibility is required to maneuver in these seas, the candidates tht are successful are experts in bending reality and truth even to the point of lying.

Guess "Honest Abe" (Lincoln) would never have been elected president, then.

Hillary's "I'm human" ploy is pathetic.

That you have to go back that far to find a supposedly honest president tells alot.

As far as I know, Lincoln didn't even campaign nor held speeches, he even wasn't on the ballot in most of the southern states. His helpers managed to make the most of his life-bio and it worked.

That Lincoln never lied though is untrue, he lied at the most crucial time ever and he lied in a big way with a lot of intellectual craftmanship, it was such a really brilliant lie that most people didn't get it and he got away with it. He basically refounded the US with that lie.

Both Clinton and Obama have been caught in flat-out lies over the past few weeks.

It's nice to see others take notice.

Carter was fairly honest, he sucked at his job, but that's a different matter.

Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.
