Nice computer, but with only 128MB RAM and a dying battery, I really don't think that thing is worth $500. Maybe $300, but $500 is really pushing it. Just my $0.43...
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

It is in nice condition, but if you were hoping on cashing out on this, I think you are going to be a tad bit disappointed.

the keylime is rare, you can get that for sure on ebay. i've seen complete packages, original box, software, in collectable shape go for $800.

Feel free to point me to a past auction in the $800 price range. The max that these things are going to reach on eBay is the high $400's. Not to mention that those probably include original boxes, a 512mb ram chip, case, etc. This is also neglecting the fact that this is not eBay.

i could only find auctions going back to april 2, but i have seen them. i didn't see any with the box, blah, blah in collectable shape.

this forum isn't ebay? really?

as i said, he shouldn't have any trouble getting that on ebay i've seen them go for $800 on ebay ... not that i'm saying his is worth $800...

he did say obo in the title thread, how about making an offer?

i have reason to lie about it, it's not like i'm getting a kick back

hopefully, posting my comment twice will make it easier to understand

Fair enough, the point that I was making is that I think people lose sight of how things go down on eBay. I can find no past auction that sold for anywhere near $800. If it really did happen, I'm sure that it is an isolated incident. Furthermore, we know nothing about the people biding on the auction (could be deadbeats or the seller trying to pump the price up). Anyways, what I am saying is that the rare case of this happening should not be used as a basis for pricing. I realize that the point you were trying to make is that he will get his asking price on eBay.

I sold mine 466 KL for £415/ $800 not on flea bay though. My model had 576ram, a good battery, Airport, restore disks, 60GB 5,400rpm hard drive, external CD-RW and it was in a good cosmetic condition. I think the prices of the Clamshell's have dropped now from what i have seen on EBay more recently. I sold my KL for more than the G4 iBook in my sig cost me. It is all about the rarity of the item really.

I bought my machine from America originally on Ebay and i paid around £190/$369 for it (but on top of that i spent another £100/ $190 to ship it over for shipping and custom fees) and it had a 10GB HD, 64ram, no Airport and no OS disks. Maybe if the seller ships worldwide they may drum up more interest and get a good sale. The £ is very strong compared to the $.

This is some past 466 models that sold on EBay.eBay: This iBook ClamShell is LOADED!!!! (item 230024267160 end time Sep-07-06 06:55:23 PDT)

eBay.co.uk: Apple Mac G3 iBook SE Clamshell *RARE KEY LIME GREEN* (item 280024443684 end time 13-Sep-06 11:53:57 BST)

eBay: Hi! I'm a KEY LIME GREEN 466 MHz DVD CLAMSHELL iBOOK SE (item 140064330847 end time Dec-22-06 10:36:49 PST)

eBay.co.uk: Apple G3 Key Lime Clamshell 466MHz iBook 80/320/DL-SD (item 140094489842 end time 09-Mar-07 19:58:50 GMT)

eBay.co.uk: Apple G3 Key Lime Clamshell 466MHz iBook 40/576/ComboDr (item 140076714704 end time 26-Jan-07 16:59:55 GMT)
I saw a fully speced model in Germany go for £300/$600 and that had original boxes and everything.

A good time to sell sometimes is in the Summer when college students are about to start to college.

Anyway OP good luck with your sale and i hope that you get what you want for your item.
