Hi everyone,

Over on the Power Mac/Mac Pro forum, there has been a discussion about using mac minis and their integrated graphics card in this thread:

http://forums.macnn.com/65/mac-pro-a...er-than-my-g3/

Would any of you nice mac mini owners (especially those with new hi spec intels) be willing to take this Photoshop Speed Test and post your results on the speed test thread below? It would be helpful for those who are trying to decide whether to get an older tower or a newer mini for a few hunderd dollars. Thanks!

Here's the speed test link:

i cant picture the current mac minis to be any faster than the current macbooks as theyre almost identical when it comes to system specs.

Well, I'm not going to go through that whole thread, but my Mini runs PSCS3 just fine. Aperture runs well, too, rendering my 30D raw files in about 2 or 3 seconds. For 2D work, the mini is adequate. If I were a pro, I'd be using a Mac Pro. I would not use a new iMac with their glossy screens, because many of the colorimeters have real difficulties with them. I just don't trust them - I'm very happing with my Mini and its matte Samsung display.
