I have a special edition imac running 8.6 that I want to upgrade to 9.1 / OSX.
I also have a powerbook G4 that came with 9.1 / OSX preinstalled.
Can I use the system discs that came with the G4 to upgrade the imac??

Thanks

Hi,

this should work. System CDs from PM G4 worked on other machines as G3 Tower to upgrade, but not on machines lower than G3.

Just try, the installer reports that it will not proceed if it doesn't work.

But as regards legal aspects, remember, that you should buy a new license for Mac OS 9.1/X.

Marc
