Firefox 3 crazy crashes

Hello Everyone!!
I'm having very strange issues with Firefox 3 on an old iBook G3/800 I keep in my living room for quick online usage... (ram is maxed out running 10.4.11)
FF2 ran fine with no issues. I dropped FF3 into the apps folder, ran it, and it crashed. It basically won't go past the bouncing icon. Strange thing is under a different user (my wife's account) it runs great. I've deleted all the FF files (all prefs, .com files...everything). Reinstalled FF3 and it still crashes. Erased all the files again...installed, restarted and now when i run it i get an error that FF is already running (yes, after a fresh restart with 1 user active) 
Any other thoughts?

Home folder-->Library-->Application Support-->Firefox. Trash the folder (don't empty) and see what happens.

I tried moving ...Application Support-->Firefox but I still get the same error (currently running even though it is not)

Well after messing with it over and over I finally figured out what was wrong. Shapeshifter. 
I put FF into the exclude list and bam... it's up and running, and I am typing this on FF3. So I guess if anyone else has crashes after upgrading to FF3 and using Shapeshifter, try excluding it.
But thanks to the guys who looked over this, and tried to help!

Ah, would never have thought about it since it appears no one mentions Shapeshifter anymore! Glad it worked out though
