So I am having font troubles. Word, Firefox, and a few other apps that use Arial have it confused with some other font.

I recently installed about a 1,000 fonts in font book. And well, now I have issues. I can remove the fonts that I recently installed, but, I'd rather enjoy having them their.

Arial is only messed up when it is in regular form, not bold or Italic. But its at any size. I'm not quite sure what to do, and why Mac OS X / Font Book is having problems. I have restarted my computer, and validated all fonts.

Anyone know what's up?

You might try running OnyX to clear out the font caches. See if that helps.

It is highly probable that you have installed a font that conflicts with Arial. You could try disabling your fonts in Font Book in batches to narrow it down to whichever font (or fonts) it is that is causing the problem.
