I'm abt to purchase a used mac and need to decide between these two. I will be using it for photoshop in the future (need to learn how to use my dslr first)

2.16 core 2duo, 3g ram, 320 g hd 7200rpm hd. 700$ comes with cs4, office, iLife

2.0 core 2duo,2g ram, 120 g hd,5400 rpm hd $450 comes with office, iLife

Is it worth $250 for the extra ram, hd space and photoshop? I've heard I can download gimp for free and that it's similar to photoshop. I won't be getting the disc for photoshop-it will just be on the machine. I want something that I won't outgrow quickly. I kept my pc laptop 7 years until it died and I'll likely do the same with this purchase. Also I'm recently laid off so trying to conserve money. Otherwise I would just buy a new MacBook pro.

A 320 GB 7200 rpm HD costs $70.

A 1 GB DDR SO-DIMM costs $11.

The software is worth way more, but if it's legit it would cost you more. Since it's likely not legit it's worth nothing.

What do you mean it's not legit?
I also saw one 2.4ghz,4g ram, 500 g hd ,$550. Is that a better deal?

He means that the CS4 is not a legal copy-no discs, no license. Pirated. Illegal.

I'm not sure which Mac notebooks you're talking about-that would help me judge these deals. Are they MacBooks or MBPs?

I've seen others 2.4 ghz. Is it better to go with higher ghz & ram
And not be concerned with software as much?

If the photoshop is pirated does that mean I can't use it?

You can use it... but if the need would ever come to reinstall you don't have discs or any proof of purchase so you're screwed. And you didn't really pay for it.
