I've installed Office 2001 on two separate computers and successfully set up autocorrect to replace
t he with the
a nd with and
In Word, this works successfully. According to the help files and the autocorrect feature itself, my customized autocorrections should carry over to the other Office programs (namely Entourage).
I've discovered that this is not the case, at least on the two machines I've set this up on.
What I've tried:
- deleting ALL MS Office 98 extensions and preferences before installing 2001 to ensure no carry-over or wonkiness.
- reinstalling Office 2001.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Can you confirm that this is the case with your copies of 2001?
Do you think it has something to do with the spaces in my autocorrection entries? For instance, I've discovered that adding
jupm to jump
DOES carry over to Entourage. Why would a misspelled word carry over between program but not a word that has a space like my "t he" or "a nd"
I tried turning off the "capitalize first word of sentence" thinking that perhaps the two autocorrect preferences where competing, but that didn't work either.
Is this a Microsoft bug?
