Has anyone been able to play Half Life 2, Episode One?

I'm always getting the "servers are too busy" error message - any time of day or night. I've tried changing my download region and deleting local files, with no success. Every time I try to play the "verifying files" progress bar starts, gets part way across, and then fails. For a long time the progress was stuck at around 30%, but now it seems to be getting to 45%. But no further.

I can play Half Life 2 and Portal, no problem. But none of the follow on episodes to Half Life can play.

Update. I went into the Finder and manually removed my Steam folder (as opposed to using the Steam "remove local files" menu option). Re-downloaded Episode One, and it works perfectly. My guess is that my folder got corrupted somehow.
