I noticed that ReportCrash was taking a lot of cycles, so I looked into the Console logs, and locationd is constantly crashing.

I tried to turn off location services in the System Prefs, and it just turns right back on.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? location itself isn't taking any cycles, but ReportCrash is taking about 50% CPU capacity.

Any suggestions as to how I can disable/remove/fix? Happy go to in and remove prefs files etc, just not sure if it'll cause any problems.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chas

Hm, this is the first I've heard of a LocationD crash. I'll look into it a bit later today.

Cool, any insights would be greatly appreciated! I can post a full Console log, if it would help.

Just fyi: I found and deleted com.apple.locationd.plist, seems to have stopped the crashing cycle (well, at least ReportCrash has stopped running).

I'm going to upgrade to El Capitan tomorrow, so I'm very glad that this issue has stopped being one.
