Was forced to use them for 2 friggin years in my graphics class. Didn't have 1 ****ing day go by without mine crashing atleast once. I usually used a G4 733MHz mac, sometimes a shitty like 400MHz imac, even used a duel 1GHz G4 with OS X and that **** crashed when a cd would auto start! Those computers were formatted so many ****ing times at an attempts to fix them but they just suck ass. Loading internet, no matter what browser took like 5-10 minutes for it to load up except on OS X but flash animations would crash OS X. The G4s are ****ing Ugly as **** , and oh my god were so ****ing slow.

I'm amazed they let you use computers. You shouldn't be allowed.

They have them set up, so I turn it on double click photoshop and it froze. How is it my fault? AMD processors are awesome. And what are you talking about blue screens? My PC has been runing without a restart for about 3 weeks and I have yet to see a BSOD when I first built it. Atleast when my pc gets messed up I know its my fault, unlike the mac it has to tel you "Its not my fault"

The 2.8GHz is coming out in the next few weeks, combine that with the Radeon 9700 and 1066 RDRam and the AMD doesn't stand a chance. Perhaps you should wake up to the reality that AMD isn't for power users, just for cheapskates concerned with price/performance ratio...

The new 64bit clawhammer form AMD is coming out at the end of the year and from what I heard is supposed to be around 3GHz+/- some MHz

Doesn't matter anyway cause the amd cpus can outperform mac cpus, you just said amd cpus suck but they outperform mac cpus so what does that make mac cpus??? lol

I'm thinking of either overclocking the P4 or just simply upgrading to 2.8GHz stock. I guess I have more money then sense...

Give me some money then. I overclocked my 2100+ to 1866MHz but then unclocked it, it was stable but my room gets hot and has poor ventalation so i'd rather not shorten its life.

Quite the harsh words here......heres my cent and a half. Some people like PC some people like macs. Macs are better for some tasks, PC's are better for some tasks. I'm a Mac Lover Through and Through...Doesn't mean I don't have a PC tho Cuz I do. Also I prefer AMD tho I don't have any real big beef with Intel, All good companies with good products. Refering to the G4's crashing all the time, I don't think you are a dumb ass but whoever set them up, sounds to me like an extesion conflict.

Its a 500HMz difference, I doubt it would be stable unless you got watercooling which can cost some money plus the P4 is already what like $200-$300 more then AMD's cpu. So you'd spend 200-300 more on the chip alone then the XP then water cooling costs some money so you'd end up spending over $500+ watercooling and case modding to fit water cooling inside plus the more money for the chip just for 500MHz more. I have a shitty job and don't have the money for all of that otherwise I would probably do soething like that. Although cooling and getting a P4 to 3GHz would probably cost less then a Mac with all the defaults, haha

BTW there is NO WAY IN HELL you can get a P4 to 3GHz with current chips with stock cooling. You'd SEVERLY shorten its life if you did that. It would probably overheat and melt.

Just today since my girlfriend is visiting her family in North Carolina I had nothing to do and I say a link to this site from the [H] and the guy said help him bash the mac users or something so I figured it would be semi amusing till I am banned or have to go to work

Maybe you have to hold down some keys when booting a mac so that it won't freeze when you open a program?

You know I think that this guy is the reason I prefer the Mac community over the PC community, at least for the most part we are nice people and don't go to other forums and bash random users for "enjoyment". God damn child, you are quite sad indeed! ^_^

I've had Macs running OS 9 Crash like that before........after i've installed every beta program I can find, and twice as many weird extensions, In day to day normal activities I have never seen a mac do what is said here. And we have over 200 macs here at these facilities.

I don't use a pc because:

1) Colour management is virtually impossible on a PC. The way PC handles colour is an embaressment. Colorsync saves me money time and again.

2) I'm also in the pro audio business, and getting a pc to do proper audio with decent midi/audio timing is near impossible.

3) A few of my most important pro design/audio plugs/programs are not available on the pc.

4) Overal maintenance and viri causes too much hassle.

So, a PC is cheaper to buy, but my time is too valuable to waste maitaining a pc. Would I calculate the hours spent repairing and mainting a pc in a pro environment, a pc would cost over three times a much.

Of course, there's also the Mac's workflow, which I prefer over the pc's, but that's no argument, just a personal preference.

Let me tell you a story about a boot.
Now, this is no ordinary boot.
It is a military boot, with nice steel toes.
This boot works in conjunction with a hand, namely, mine.
What does this hand do?
It grabs you by your scrawny neck and hauls you to the door, while the nice boot slams into your @$$ sending you flying out.
It then slams the door shut.
Let this be a warning.
DON'T COME BACK.
