funny, I never had it. It's not 'big' here.
In the right season however oysters are being sold on the street like hotdogs.

I eat sushi almost everyday I work. Being a long time vegetarian, I have to stick to rolls like garden, avacado, inari, and my personal favorite Spicy vegan which has some sort of wheat gluten "fish". It's kinnda silly, but the chili powder goes so well the taste of sushi.

Oh, and vegetables have been an important component of sushi since the earliest narezushi. Many traditional varieties are mostly or completely vegetarian. It's just a preservation process. Apparently, eating all that raw fish makes certain ignorant people turn into jackasses, so I'm fine without it.

Cheers!

Edit: I forgot about tempura rolls! Tempura green bean rolls from Yamazushi are to die for!

I used to eat sushi abount once a week, self-made. But it takes quite some time to prepare. Now I eat sushi occasionnally (?) but I don't prepare them myself anymore. It doesn't stop me from eating animals, even the cutest ones.

I've never had Japanese food, I've eat Chinese food often and I'm somewhat interrested in trying out Thai food. Quick look in the phonebook and there's only one Japanese restaurant listed and it's way too far for me to get to.

well, I find Thai to be similar to Chinese, except for the heavy use/addition of peanuts and coconut juice/milk. I don't really find Japanese to be that similar to Chinese, but it may be due to the fact that it doesn't come in those little white boxes with the wire hanger. Give them a try, most of the places seem to be relatively inexpensive. btw, ONE Japanese restaurant in your area? Sheesh, u need to get outta the burbs!!!

last time I had it was in may... I had the veggie rolls and steak teriyaki since preg women aren't supposed to have raw fish/meat. I actually do like sushi, my husband introduced me to it, but I don't crave it like he does... it's not very filling or satisfying. And yes, on the east coast it is expensive!!

(although I've had very good sushi in Telluride, where they fly it in every day...)

Is this a good place for an argument?

if you read what i wrote, correctly, i wasn't even calling you stupid or dense, if you answered the question and said you were joking then it would not have applied to you would it?. then you finish your reply by saying "f***ing brits" which is a completely rascist statement.

Nice to be back OT, and thanks LHMC for honoring me w/ the 1st post!

hrmmm, I am still not sure about the wine w/ sushi deal tonight, but eff it! I had a long day fighting off some hack who kept droning on and on w/ questions regarding my client's tax returns.

Pretty straight forward b/c we're getting it delivered:
Edamame (sp?)
2 Calif Rolls
2 Spicy Tuna
+ ??? (salad?) depending on how hungry I am when I finally order at about 9:30 p.m.
