I'm runing into problems with many users. Their browsers are having problems with the javascript I think.

The whole site is made with Dreamweaver and Fireworks MX.

Most users are runing Windoz.

Please help before I have to rebuild the site from scratch.

Hey Gsciorio,

I didn't run into any problems on my Macintosh browsers, however, one thing did strike me. You noted that Dreamweaver and Fireworks were used for the coding, when your pages indicate (in generator tags) that Adobe GoLive 6 was used. If both Dreamweaver and GoLive were both used to create and modify your <html> code, there may lye your problem... Macworld noted in an article maybe a year ago, that both companies' products are incompatible with eachother, and should not be used together for modifying the same code. (This may have changed with the MX line, but it may not have).

I also had my own problems with GoLive Javascript code when coding my own site, with images not rolling over... was this the Javascript problem that you mentioned for Windows computers? The Javascript file (scriptlib.js?) kept corrupting itself, and I had to trash this file, then recode portions of one page to rebuild it. This solution was effective at times, but unexplainably, the problem would eventually repeat itself in my updating page content.

I have since recoded my site from absolute scratch in Dreamweaver, and have yet to have problems. I looked into your html code and didn't find any obvious markup issues, but hopefully some skillful coder on this forum can help you diagnose the issue without you having to recode. Best of luck,

- Moogatoo

Moogatoo,

That sig is way too big. The guidelines are 140 pixels x 40 pixels, less than 10k. Please fix it. Thanks...
Yeah, about those TPS reports, didn't you get the memo?

Yep, I'm also getting the error on IE5 for Mac. It's because GoLive has inserted it's own rollover code in addition to that already supplied by Fireworks. I posted a fix for that in GoLive 6 in the OS X software forum. You may just want to open up your pages in a text editor and remove the line:

CSInit[CSInit.length] = new Array(CSILoad,/*CMP*/'button',/*URL*/'index_images/index_11.gif',/*URL*/'index_images/index_11-over.gif',/*URL*/'index_images/index_11-over.gif','');

it's causing syntax errors. It's wrapped in the !-- -- tags when it shouldn't be there at all!
Computer thez nohhh...

<unrelated to topic at hand>

Malson, thanks for the heads-up on the signature size... I kinda just assumed that everyone else was just being a little conservative with the size of their signature!

Anyway, it has been changed. Later!

Moogotoo, Simon Mundy I think you're both right. I've been a Dreamweaver user since version 4 but thought I'd try Go Live. I switched back when I discovered all the bugs in this software, even after spending the moola to purchase it.

I'm going to remove the lines pronto and try to get it running lean and mean by Monday, Sept, 30th.

Thanks!
Giulio
