this is where i rephrase the subject line: what range of temperatures would you guys consider it safe to expose a powerbook to (celsius scale)?

the weather in Toronto is about to get arctic, but i'm carrying the Ti in my Spire backpack within a form-fitting (but around 5mm thin) slip. i've carried it in the bag while taking the 15 minute walk to university during about -5C, about the coldest it's gotten so far. it seems to be fairly insulated in there, but it was kind of chilled, like it was in a fridge for a while..

anyway, i'm not sure where the manual or whatever is to check these specs, just wondering if anyone's had experience with the Ti under extreme temperatures..

i just don't want the screen cracking after being outside and coming into an over-heated room, you know?

Operating temperature: 50 to 95 F (10 to 35 C)

Storage temperature: -40 to 116 F (-40 to 47 C)

Relative humidity: 20% to 80% noncondensing

Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet

Maximum storage altitude: 15,000 feet

Maximum shipping altitude: 35,000 feet

Found this on the Tech Specs page of the PowerBook section on Apple's website (here).

The only thing you have to worry about is the hard disk. I wouldn't want to expose one of those to freezing temperatures while they're spinning at over seventy revolutions per second.
