Is there a way to disable features on the Mobility Radeon card, like anti-aliasing? On my PC, there are applets that let you control everything about the card, but I don't see anything like that in OSX.

Also, where does one download the latest drivers for the card?

I'm using a mobility radeon in a PBG4 rev.b 550mhz.

ATI's web site will simply tell you to look to your laptop manufacturer for any "Mobility" technology. Because the Mobility chip sets are incorporated directly into the motherboard by the companying bulding the system, ATI does not provide updates for them, they leave that up to the machine manufacturer.

He probably wants to update the drivers to improve graphics performance.

For example, you can update the drivers for the nVIDIA graphics cards on certain systems on their nVIDIA software download page. However, there is no selection there currently for GeForce4 Go mobile processors. See the following:

NOTE: GeForce2 Go and GeForce4 Go mobile processors are not supported in this driver. Please contact the notebook's manufacturer for graphics drivers for your notebook PC.
Similarly, I did find some graphics drivers for the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition on their ATI software download page, but not for Mobility products. See the following:

Originally posted at http://mirror.ati.com/support/produc...ps/index.html:
ATI Mobile Graphics products in notebooks

Display drivers and multimedia applications for notebooks with ATI graphics solutions are available for download from your Notebook manufacturer.

For your convenience, a list of links to notebook manufacturers is available in the ATI Onboard section of our website.

The display driver supplied with a given notebook has been customized for:

* the built-in flat panel display
* any other graphics or video options installed in that specific computer.

As a result of these customizations, ATI Customer Care is unable to offer drivers for notebooks.
Nevertheless, I did find a GeForce Graphics Card Update at the following URL:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120038

However, I wasn't able to find an update for any Mobility Radeon graphics card at the Apple Support Downloads Web Site.
