ya know, apple hasnt been talking about there apps : pages and keynotes. maybe the piecharts means that iconfactory is helping on making some better looking charts (and other things) for the apps? (didnt see the above post before i posted mine)

To me, the latest video is showing what the content will be in the new Icon Factory. They showed trucks pulling in unloading cargo, with logos pertaining to certain companies or technologies. The pumpkin, I believe, covers the holiday themed icons and things they offer. The pie charts were for Keynote Themes (something new they might be offering). Thats how I see it anyways.

I'm excited to see what they unveil.

My theory is that this movie represents five technologies which are being used to implement the site. Of these, I'm positive I understand the first three, and I think I understand the fourth.

The first truck had an Apple logo. I believe this represents OSX Server.

The second truck had an icon which is coming to represent syndication: RSS and Atom feeds.

The third truck had the logo for Ruby on Rails, an up-and-coming technology for implementing Website backends. This was probably used to implement the site.

The pumpkin most likely represents custom skins for the site: "costumes", as it were. CSS-based themes?

I still don't understand the pie charts. Perhaps they represent some sort of statistics they plan to offer for their icon sets?

my first instinct was pumpkin pie also, which doesn't really make sense. October presentation is much better, except that is a looong way away.

isn't apple going to have some new kind of iChart?

The large portions of those pie charts could represent "hang-out time", while the little wedges could represent "just kicking it".

This way they can launch it on a Tuseday. Maybe it'll have something to do with WWDC. haha.

Seriously though I'm kinda looking forward to it, which is funny cause I haven't cared much about Icon factory in a long time.

I agree with most of this... I think the pumpkin could have simply been the seeding of their server with all the older icons.

I think the pie charts are other offerings from them...

Maybe they're on the west coast and it is now almost 1pm, so I assume it should be up soon.

I am pretty sure that they are based out of North Carolina. That doesn't necessarily mean that their server(s) aren't on the west coast, though. Personally, I have enjoyed the teaser and now am frustrated that there is no payoff today. Come back, IF!

Even then what would their server being on the west coast have to do with anything? Do they only accept uploads after 1PM EST?

My guess is they are trying to build more hype.

PhillRyu.com. According to Phillryu.com Iconfactory is back up and there is a comment on the post saying "The new Iconfactory is live, but the DNS is still propagating across the net, so you might not be able to view it for an hour or more. Its coming!"

Oh well.

edit. It's up for me now. I really like the new look.

Just incase anyone is dying to see it and it's not working for them.

That is a awesome new design but isn't it soooo 2004? I expected new 2006 technologies like digging/voting for icons etc and scriptalicious things. I wonder what http://www.ipodhub.net is going to reveal

Is it me, or are they having serious problems updating their site?

I'm getting broken image files all over the place. I've reset my cache and nothing... I've used the IP address, and it's kinda works.
