I was just fooling around with the calendar maker feature in iPhoto 06 and I made a pretty neat one. I'm thinking of buying it, but before I lay down ~30 bucks though I want to know a few things.

1) What is the quality of the prints like? Do you see any kind of artifacts or whatever? How is the paper like is it regular printer paper or glossy/laminated etc.

2) Does the resolution of the photos matter? My photos are in 2448 pixels width by 1632 pixels height, will that be OK?

3) How is it delivered to your door? I am kind of afraid to order it because my mailman stuffs everything into my tiny mailbox and I don't want my prints to get bent or anything.

If anyone can take a picture of their calendar/book/prints so I can see how it turns out, that would be cool.

They often have sample books at apple stores.
if the resolution is too low it will warn you.

I've done two iPhoto books now and have been very, very happy with both. The paper is heavier photo paper, more matte than glossy. Color and contrast is generally very good. The only artifacts I get is graininess in dark/indoor photos, which is a limitation of my camera, not iPhoto. 2448x1632 would be more than enough resolution, but, like SSharon said, iPhoto will warn you if your photos' resolution is too low.

Thanks everyone for the information.

It sounds like a great service, I am a lot more comfortable ordering from them now. Apple seems to have thought of everything, from the packaging to warning you about lower resolution photos. Sounds great!
