Philips heard the call and started making LEDs which get warmer as they dim! Just ordered-up a sixpack.

This was February 2017. A pair of 40-watters just blew.
That’s only about 7-8K hours, but everything else is going on the originals. I think the shortened lifespan may be because that lamp has the bulbs mounted horizontally. Still, 18 months isn’t bad.
My foyer lights shut off now, but they’re on the original bulbs. I’d say they’re at 12-13K.
