I've just spent an hour or so restoring my fathers iPad 2, which was completely bricked after trying to upgrade to 9.3. Restoring was nothing special - connect to iTunes and do a full restore that way - but if there hadn't been a recent backup in iCloud, we would have lost data.
Googling around a bit shows that he was far from alone. Far from all iPads get bricked, but there are scattered reports from all over that some iPads 2 get bricked.
So: double-check your backups and consider holding off until 9.3.1 or something like that before you hit upgrade on an iPad 2. IPad mini has extremely similar hardware and may be affected, although I haven't seen any reports of that.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

I swear that I did look for a news thread first, I must have missed it.

Looking for any news on 9.3.2, an app I want is forcing the jump from 8.3... wah.

I plan to do a wired update. Later... I'm in no big rush for what this update is supposed to do, and I certainly don't want to rush into anything that might brick my iPad.

How is 9 in general on an iPad 2?

9.3.1 fixed the iPad 2 bricking issues.
9 is good on the original iPad mini, which is nearly identical to the iPad 2.

Well, I guess I'll bite the bullet and sacrifice one for testing.
I have a bunch for work, and they're all on various flavors of iOS 7.
Nothing I need has asked for a newer OS, but I figure that's just a matter of time.
